Fall Driving Tips

1. Look Out for Leaves

As the weather changes and the leaves pile they can become a hazard on the road.  You should always do your best to use caution or avoid any large piles of fallen leaves on the road this fall, leaves can be a slippery as ice and can cover debris or potholes.

2. Check Your Tires

When the temperature changes, make sure your tires are properly inflated and have adequate life to them. You may want to consider switching to winter tires in snowy or icy conditions.

3. Check Your Lights

As daylight hours decrease, make sure your headlights are functioning properly. Use them in low visibility conditions, and remember to turn them on at dusk or in any in-climate weather.

4. Be Mindful of Wildlife

Deer are particularly active in the fall. Stay alert, especially in areas with deer crossing signs, and be cautious during dawn and dusk when they are most active.

5. Keep Your Windshield Clear

Check your windshield wipers and clear any fallen leaves that accumulate this time of year. Crystal clear visibility is crucial as rain and debris can obstruct your view.
